A little about us.
At Lampos Design, we believe in authenticity and transparency. We treat each of our projects as if it was our own home. Our philosophy centers on collaboration and mutual respect, working seamlessly with contractors, architects and other partners to ensure a successful project. We aim to make remodels and new home builds enjoyable.
We are a boutique firm that takes on only a select number of projects each year. This allows us to offer direct communication and personalized assistance, ensuring that each project receives the utmost care and attention. Our commitment to excellence, understanding of construction, attention to detail and passion for a curated environment sets us apart.
Our Process
No two projects are the same. We create a unique plan for each of our clients.
Typical Steps in our Design Process:
Step 1: Initial Onboarding
Our process begins with an in-depth meeting at your home or jobsite, where our primary focus is to listen—truly listen. Understanding your renovation goals, budget, and the unique challenges of your space allows us to craft a design that fits seamlessly with your vision and lifestyle. We’ll delve into your aesthetic preferences, daily routines, and overall aspirations for the project. Shortly after this initial meeting, we’ll take detailed measurements of the space and create as-built drawings, ensuring we have a precise foundation to build upon as we move forward.
Step 2: Design Concept, Budget, and Timeline
With a clear understanding of your vision, we’ll develop a cohesive design concept or “house brand” that serves as the guiding vision for your project. This concept ensures each space reflects its own character while harmonizing with the rest of the home. Our concept board will act as our compass, keeping us aligned as we move through the design process. Simultaneously, we’ll outline a realistic budget and timeline, carefully balancing your goals with practicality. At Lampos Design, we respect both your time and investment, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully managed to keep the project on track.
Step 3: Design Development and Drawings
This is where the vision takes shape. We’ll craft a detailed design package including floor plans, elevations, cabinetry layouts, color schemes, and material finishes. You'll see the design come to life through 2D and 3D renderings, along with physical material samples. As we refine the details, the design will evolve, ensuring everything aligns perfectly with our goals.
Step 4: Material Selection and Plan Updates
We will thoughtfully curate all the materials for your project—from flooring and wall finishes to paint colors and plumbing fixtures. Drawing from years of experience, we’ll make informed decisions that reflect both the design vision and the functional needs of your space. The architectural plans will be updated to incorporate these selections, and we’ll fine-tune the details to ensure the project stays on course. We’ll provide contractor-facing documents with precise specifications and meet onsite with the construction team regularly.
Step 5: Interior Furnishings
While construction is in progress, we’ll begin carefully selecting furnishings, decor, artwork, and soft materials such as upholstery and window coverings. We’ll curate pieces that perfectly complement your space and reflect your style. You’ll be able to review and approve all selections through your personalized online account, where you can also track orders and monitor progress. We’ll handle everything, from shipping to inspection and storage at our warehouse, ensuring all items are in perfect condition and ready for installation day.
Step 6: Installation and Styling
When construction is complete and the space is spotless, we’ll schedule an installation week to transform your home. Our team will manage everything—from furniture delivery and placement to the finer details like hanging artwork, styling decor, and ensuring every pillow and light fixture is perfectly arranged.
Meet Katie Lampos.
The founder and principal designer at Lampos Design.
After college, while living in San Francisco Katie developed a passion for interiors, architecture and became acutely aware of the importance of our built environment in our day to day lives. It was here that her tailored design aesthetic began to take shape.
After a decade in San Francisco and years project management under her belt, Katie moved to Los Angeles. There she honed her design craft and developed her technical skills at the UCLA School of Interior Architecture. In a plot twist, Katie and her family moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in late 2020. It was there in Ovilla, TX that Lampos Design sprouted its roots. After a few years and a lot of work in Texas, the allure of home and California sunsets came calling. In 2024, Katie and her family packed their creativity and headed back to the stunning shores of California, landing on the Monterey Peninsula (this time for good).
Katie has been in the design industry since 2018, working on a mixture of custom new builds, interior renovations, remodels and furnishing projects.
